Hanging Arm Fat!!!
Sorry about the title but I feel like I have to be blunt. Does anyone know what to do to get rid of this! I know there is surgery...and there are kick backs with free weights but is that it?
Also overall body toning and losing...what is the ultimate and most efficient...swimming, pilates...or something else?
I'm going up and down a bit...92 down is my highest. I'm not always doing the greatest and have to keep more on track...I've joined Weigh****chers and that works for me I've missed a month b/c of essays, exams and going away.
I've got it too and you find an answer, let me know. I've lost 127 lbs and sometimes I feel like it was all in my arms or wings as I call them. Very disgusting. It's the only PS I would think about paying for myself. I'm told it costs like $3000. When I get to goal it might be worth it just to be able to wear the right size clothing. A lot of tops haven't taken into account that some women have wings instead of arms!
Teresa,
$3000?????
Okay - now I'm hosting the pity
The arms and thighs are the worst - belly is horrible But it's fairly easy to tuck it in the spandex and cover it up - but the arms and thighs - just flap, flap, flap.
Oh well - I'll take the flapping over the awful feeling of adding back the -111lbs lost.
- hugs - dea
Cherilyn,
My batwings are flapping even as I'm here typing ARRRRgggggh - yuck - I've not found anything that will make them go away - I'm not ready to check into PS just yet - Plus I'm terrified that ins will not cover any of it and I'm not ready to hear that for sure.
If you find the answer - please let me know.
- hugs - dea(-111)
I have the horrible wings too! I was told that arm exercises will firm up the muscle you have hiding under all the skin but that the skin itself has no memory so no amount of exercise will make the skin go away. Making the muscle underneath bigger with exercise will help the looks and if you ever get to have plastic surgery, just think what your arms would be then! I am working on mine because some day, I intend to get rid of the excess skin. It may not be now but I am so much happier with how I feel now, I just wear enough sleeves to cover it up and go on my happy way!
Hi guys....haven't posted in the LONGEST time...but I am a September person too! (9-23-04)... and I am battling the batwings as well and THAT is one problem that I would seriously consider having to scrimp and save to remedy in case insurance doesn't cover (I'm not holding out hope either!).....
My DH and I work out with a personal trainer and she has us do reverse hammers and let me tell you..... Y'OUCH!... it won't do anything for the skin (like a fellow poster stated... once stretched beyond "memory" it won't snap back fully) BUT the muscles that it gives you underneath.... yowza!
Lie on your back on the floor and get some free weights...start small ...3lbs....elbows pointing up towards the ceiling...... straight...do not let them drop.....take the free weight and dip the weight down so that it barely touches the floor right by your ear. 20 reps. each side... and then do the flutters.... almost touch the floor but not quite.... dip hold, dip hold.... 20 of those.... alternate.... if you are doing them right you will feel it right where those wings are chickies.... and let me tell you.... do those babies (our trainer has us doing 100+ each workout) and you will start to see some definition pretty darn quick... of course as you are able...increase the weight on the free weights....

I feel like one of those dogs with all the extra skin. The extra skin interfers with sleep, I have to move it into place. I joke about using duct tape (solve hair removal and flapping skin all at once) but just one time I would like to see what that thinner person inside all this skin really looks like.
I really did this for health reasons so I don't want to complain. Except that I think will eventually, need surgery for some of the skin to be removed, so someday I will be able to sleep for more than 3 hours at a time (after about 3 hours I have to reposition all this extra skin).

Sounds like we're all here with the same batwing problems. YUCK..I hate to wave cause it continues long after I've stopped. But what can you do? PS in most or all cases are not covered by insurance - that one I know I will have to cough up the dough..$3,000 sounds like a bargain..I'm hearing in my neck of the woods $4,000 or more. Keep up with the toning - that's what i workout the most..but the xtra skin is still there.
