Itch!
I have the ITCH all over and it's driving me nuts. I have scratched so much in so many places that I've made sores. I was told that it's my nerves. But I was just wondering if any of you guys out there have the same problem?? Maybe it's dry skin from it being so loose, or I dunno... But I have gotten a cortosone shot, predisone pills, prescription cream that is suppose to help.. that was 3 wks ago and nothing helps.. I wake up scrathing and everywhere I scratch it leaves a bruise. Any & all comment, advice, etc will be greatly appreciated.

Jo,
Sorry to hear you are being so itchy. I've had some dry skin...mainly on my shins. I was told that post-ops have more dry skin due to us not eating the fats we use to..and fats puts moisture into the skin. I used alot of intensive care lotion, and it's pretty much under control now.

Jo,
So sorry to hear about your problem - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I got this from a lady on the bama board - its GREAT stuff - smells good and made my skin feel good 2 - try it!
Dry Skin Cream for wls patients or anyone for that matter
2 - 15 oz Bottles of Equate Brand (Walmart) Baby Lotion
2 - Containers of Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Cream
***I find Vitamin E on the lotion isle in WM.
9 ozs. of Equate Brand Vaseline
Mix together very well. What I do is fill the Vitamin E Cream
containers with lotion mixture and store the rest in a tupperware
container. I used my electric mixer to mix mine. It makes it look real
fluffy like pink whip cream.
Hope this will help.

I don't know what is causing your itch, but I do know that I had yeast infections in all of the bruised areas on my abdomin following surgery. The pharmacist recommended lotrimin cream three or four times a day on all my itchy places. It took a couple weeks to get rid of it completely, but it began to improve after only a couple of days. Don't know if this will hel*****t, but I do know what you're going through. Good luck!
