Lower Abdomen Pain
Hi Everyone,
Ok, it's been a while since i've posted anything, but i hope all is well with everyone. I do have a question though about lower abdomen pain. Have any of you experienced this and what could it possibly be? I thought maybe it was gas pains or maybe pains from not having a BM in a few days, but, that happened and i was still having the pains. At times it feels like period cramps and other times it feels like someone is sticking me with a sharp object in my belly. I went to the doctor last week and she thought maybe i had a bacterial infection, so i took antibiotics for that, but the pain is still there. At times it hurts badly, and other times it barely hurts at all. Any ideas as to what it could be?? Any help would be appreciated.

Missy-
I'm so sorry, that sounds yucky! How would you have gotten a bacterial infection?
Well I was thinking . . . could you have a hernia by any chance? I have a massive abdominal hernia and have twinges of pain from time to time when I exercise too hard. Good luck and let us know how you're doing! Hugs, Sandy
Hi Sandy,
Thanks for the response. I typed the wrong thing earlier, i had what they thought was a bladder infection, not a bacterial infection. In any case, silly me decided to have sex this afternoon and boy have i regretted that...it was very painful. I know something is wrong, and i made an appointment for 9:45am tomorrow with my PCP. Hopefully she will be able to pinpoint the problem or refer me to someone who can.
I wasn't even thinking of a hernia, but i guess i can't rule that out either. I will ask her tomorrow if it is possible for that to be the problem. Thanks again for the response and i will post tomorrow if i find out anything.

I had similar pains approx 2 months ago, pain so bad that I couldn't move and almost passed out from the pain. By the time I got to the ER, I was dehydrated b/c I was too afraid to eat or drink when the pain began. Once at the ER I had the battery of test, and luckily there was no blockage. It seemed to be a combination of constipation and gas. It was enough to keep me home for 2 days, but it did pass. Since then I have made it a point to drink more than 64 ounces and I include prunes in my daily diet. Good luck with your doctor.
