Hello to Everyone! I have just hit my 7 month post op from by lap-band procedure. I am down 53 pounds (as of 2 weeks ago) and down 5 sizes. I started at 280 pounds and now I am at 226.8 pounds. I have had constant troubles getting away from food, and now that I have began working out again, I am getting away from that addiction. To any banders out there, what has your success been this far out of surgery????? Any comments are greatly appreciated:0)

Hey Val I had my VBG on 9/7/04 and I'm down 83 lbs. I started at 275 and I'm now @ 192. I like the band, but one thing I've noticed is that I have to slack/cheat a whole lot before the scale starts to move in the other direction. I'll stall, but I haven't gained any weight when I'm not doing what I'm supposed to do. I've been doing pretty well. I'm happy with my loss, but I've read some posts where people who have goten the lap-band or the VBG haven't been as happy as people with the RNY. I think we are all doing great, we just have to stay on track!! Good luck to you and I wish you continued success!! ~Jae 275/192/185

Congrats to you both... I just read a post on yahoo from a girl that had hers done 6 mos ago and she has gained 5 pounds. She admitted that she learned early on how to cheat with it and how to eat around it. I felt so bad for her. You could hear the despair in her words... Keep up the good work ... a loss is a loss is a loss... I don't care how you did or who you gave that pound to... its a goner!!! wanda
