Scale Going in WRONG direction
This is a first for me. I actually GAINED 3 pounds this week. Im 7 1/2 months postop. Its depressing. Although I work out, take vitamins, and drink loads of water, I KNOW I ate some bad stuff recently. Each day, Id kick myself about it. Has this happened to any of you? I think Ill write down my foods beginning TODAY. (maybe go back to tracking on fitday) Any advice?

I hate that darn scale. I excersie, eat right, get enough protein. I might add that I track everything that goes in my dang mouth. I have lost a little over 60 lb. - and that is it. When people talk about their plateaus I laugh. I have had at least 3 plateaus and they have lasted well over a month each!!!! So, I know what you are saying. It has happened to me. All I can say is don't get discouraged and keep your head up. The weight gain could be attributed to many things such as water weight, BMs things like that. If you learn from your mistakes you will continue to make wise choices. Good luck!!!! J.
I also gained about 3 lbs. over the weekend. It was a first for me, too! I did decide that I was eating too much candy!! I was eating Tootsie Roll Midgies, Bit-o-honey, and peanut butter logs! I guess that I thought that since they were "fat free" that I could eat all of them that I wanted!! (I didn't really BELIEVE that, but I acted like I did!!) I also stopped at Dairy Queen and bought a Blizzard--the dessert from Hell!! LOL I was only able to eat about 4 or 5 bites, but it was enough to make me gain, I guess. I just cannot buy anymore candy. I cannot control the urge to eat too much of it!!! Oh well, live and learn... Hope you did, too!!

The above web page was mentioned on another Message Board and looks into emotional eating- I have checked out the site and think I will join ($10 a week for 12 weeks). Maybe 1/2 the problem isn't WHAT you are eating but WHY you are eating....
Hang in there- Victoria
Leslie,
I had the band, a little different, but not by much. I have went through the same issues, except for the weight gain. I think that I will begin a day/week by eating healthy, then something comes along and throws me off and I ate, oh my god, did I just eat that??? I recently began a physical training session on Monday and my trainer has required me to write down all physical activity that I do every day as well as all food that i intake every day.
In doing this food journal, I have noticed that my eating has changed just since Monday. I have been constantly hungry, and on Monday, I ate 6 small 2-4 oz meals, well since then, I have eaten only when hungry like I am supposed to, maybe 2 times no more than 3 a day. Writing down all food you eat will open your eyes, and remember, the only one that you can hold accountable for it is yourself, but if you have support outside or inside the home with this, make them part of it and show them everything that you ate for the day. From there, if you do not put all the information on the journal, then you are not only depriving yourself of the truth, but your family/friends as well.
Hope this helps;)

I always put on weight right before AF comes. It ranges between a 2-4lb weight gain. You might keep that in mind as well.
I have to agree with what J Goldinger said as well.
So try to keep your chin up. You will lose some more. I finally broke out of a 8 week plateau. I thought I would never lose any more. But it will happen for you. Just keep on eating right and exercise, sip, sip, walk, walk, sip sip and you'll be just fine.

Its ok... your normal... I was on a 7 week plateu in which I lost and gained the same darn 3 pounds that entire time... drove me NUTS!!!! Like the other posters said... it could be menstrual, BM, fluid retention, I think mine was brain fart! Jus****ch your carbs and drink your waters and move... it will take care of itself... it may take a bit of time but it will happen.
huggles,
