I am 7 months out of surgery and curious about others who are about the same length out. I would like to know how many caloires a day you are getting in. I know my surgeons guidelines but am curious about how many anyone else at this point can do. I cannot seem to up my calories from the comfortable place I have found and therefore seem to keep stalling for two and three weeks at time. Thanks for any replies!

Cindy, I am having the same problem. I am only eating about 800 or less calories a day. This has really slowed my weight loss. I am trying to eat more often but I forget. I would like to eat about 1000 calories a day. Lynn J., lap RNY 9/29/04 -101 lbs. 150cm bypassed

Hi Cindy, I track my calories religiously on fitday. I count every bite, and I think I am having a bit too many. I average 1350 a day. I haven't stalled out in my weight loss, I lose every week, but it is sllloooooooow going. I exercise for about an hour a day at the gym, and this has driven up my hunger. I wish I could get my calories down a bit more. Good luck to you! ~Sue

I'm getting about 1000 calories a day at least 5 days a week, and the other 2 days, I seem to be hitting about 1200 calories. I have myself on a schedule and it just works out like this. I've noticed a slow down in the weight loss the last couple of months, but I'm not too concerned. I've lost 111 (a ****house - lol) so far. The last month, I lost no weight the first three weeks, then lost 5 pounds (I only weigh on Sundays). As long as the scale is staying the same or less, I'm not sweating it for now. The best to you!

Cindy I'm 7 months out also, my usual intake can vary between 1000 and about 1300 (usually around that time of the month). Thus far I have lost 80 pounds, I was referred to as a lite weight before my surgery, and have approximately 30 more pounds to go for my goal. As to what I eat, I focus on my protein first, but have tried to eat balanced meals by always including a veggie with my meal. I'm sure you will be off your plateau before you know it.

I average 1000-1200 a day. I am still losing only at a slower pace. I go to the pool for aqua arobics 6 times a week and I think that helps alot! At least it is burning off some of the calories for me. Actually I have 30 more lbs to go to get to my goal weight. I am pretty sure I will get there sooner or later! However, I am quite happy with the way I look and feel now!

Thanks guys for your answers. I usually hang around 800 calories per day. I tried yesterday to increase it to 1000 and it didn't work too well. I felt "stuffed" all day. I did increase my protein (via supplements) to way over 100 adn actually lost three pounds overnight. I guess I am just not really getting enough based on that response. Thanks to all!

Cindy- My doctor wants me on 800 calories a day, 70 grams of protein and 30 carbs. No bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, or fruit. (Although at my 6-month check up I begged to have fruit once a week and he said OK!) I'm compliant about 6 days a week, usually one day on the weekend I cheat! Hugs, Sandy 268/165/136 (-103) P.S. I could eat alot more than I'm eating right now!
