Monday Roundup!
Good mornin' !
Well, spring has finally sprung in the DC area, the cherry blossoms are gorgeous and I feel like a butterfly shedding it's cocoon! Hope life is good for everyone reading this! How did y'all do last week? I'll start:
# lost last week - only 1/2 pound
# lost overall - 98 1/2
# of pounds still to lose to reach to of "normal" BMI range - 33 (check out http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm)
Favorite low carb "convenience" food - South Beach Diet protein bars (10g of protein, 9 carbs, 140 calories) the Peanut Butter flavor is to die for, I'm NOT kidding! I eat this EVERY morning for breakfast.
Eexercise last week - 5 days
Best "WOW" moment - I went to Target yesterday for some new nighties, the "Flashdance" look of my old ones falling off one shoulder has played itself out, haha! (Once again, some of you may be too young to remember Jennifer Beals in the movie!) I got a few sets with those little crop pants with drawstring and tank top (size L) and my 8 year old daughter told me proudly that the cool moms wear those jammies! Felt WAY good!
Biggest challenge - CONSISTENCY! I'm making great food choices Monday through Friday, going to the gym EVERY day, drinking lots (and I'm not talking' Tequila Sunrises here!), taking my vitamins, etc. When the weekend comes I don't make make BAD choices, just choices that are not as good. And that's why the weight isn't dropping like it used to. I know that when you get down to the last 20 to 30 pounds it is the hardest and I need to be disciplined 7 days a week, not just 5. I mean, I'm not eating brownies or bowls of spaghetti or anything like that but I'm not making the best food choices and I'm eating bigger meals more frequently. Someone kick my butt so I can ditch these last 33 pounds!
Love y'all! Hugs, Sandy

Hi Sandy and everyone
Monday's my official weigh day on my parent's doctor scale and let me tell you I was SOOOO scared to weigh today! My weight's been up a few at home (prob due water retention, aunt flo is in town) but even knowing this, i didn't want to end my losing streak, I've always lost SOMETHING every monday since my surgery... and today I lost 1/4 of a lb!!! YAY!!!!! I'll take it with gratitude!
Overall I'm down 75.5 lbs from surgery day.
21 lbs to normal bmi!
fave food this week- made some steamed zucchini with lemon and olive oil
Exercise last week- 4 days at the gym
wow moment- tryed on swimsuits today at target and it didn't suck!!
biggest challenge- I would REALLY REALLY like to get my calories down this week. Must stop popping in a bite of this or that! It adds up!!
I go see my pcp on wednesday for first time since surgery (he's the one who convinced me to go for wls) so I'm excited about that but also wondering what he's going to say about the thyroid stuff and all the plastics my surgeon recommends.
Have a wonderful week guys!
Love ya,
Sue
