? for the girls...
Hello all...
I guiltily admit that I've been lurking again...thank goodness tax season is almost over though. Can you say "test of your new eating habits?"!!!
So, I've been reading posts here for awhile and have a question for the ladies. About a month ago I had my first normal period in a long time and it wasn't until about a week after that I put 2 and 2 together to come up with 4. I was STARVING just before and during that time...and was starting to panic that I was a surgery failure! Seriously, I was bummed. But then after a few days passed, I started getting the full feeling back and lost some of the appetite...whew! I did some looking and found other women mention that during that time of the month, hunger was something to deal with. Anybody else experience this? Just wondering...I always like to know I'm not alone in these things...
Anyhow, glad to hear that most of you are doing very well. My thoughts and prayers remain with you all.
Take care,
Christine

Well, I'm sorta bummed to hear that there are others going through the same thing, but at least I know I'm not crazy or a failure.
Anyone have suggestions for how to overcome the hunger and cravings? I'm guessing the solution is the same old thing we've been told for years...drink more water, go for a walk, etc. Oh well...it isn't the worst thing to happen.
Thanks ladies for sharing...
Keep up the fabulous work!

I haven't noticed this - but it could be possible - i'll have to check the next time..what i did notice was that i don't have or maybe this time around - that I didn't have that chocolate craving fixation this time of the month..umm...that always a good thing. Although i have heard that at 6 months our pouchs have healed and we can eat more - so im now more watchful of my portions. Those things we did in the beginning we have to put into practice all the time.
Hi Christine,
I went through this yesterday and it scared the heck out of me because I felt like it was my first real "pig out" since surgery. I was planning to just have a tiny dinner but I came home starved and pms-ing and ate tooo much. I felt miserable for over an hour afterward. Not to mention scared of my lack of control. My calories went way over for the day too. If you put everything I ate on a plate it wouldn't have seemed horrible, but I picked and picked at stuff until I wanted to pop. Thankfully my appetite usually decreases DURING the time that time of the month, it's just before that I guess I'm hungrier. Welcome back from lurkdom, it looks like your post hit a nerve with all of us girls! I hadn't noticed this crazy pms hunger before you pointed it out! Congrats on century club too Christine! WOO HOO on 106 lbs down!
Love,
Sue
