6 month checkup

Hello everyone. This is my first post, but I've been reading yours and getting encouragement from them. Yesterday was my 6-month checkup, and it went pretty well. I wish I could have lost more weight, but I know it will come off eventually. I saw this on someone else's post, and I thought it would work well for us... it's a great thing to see where we all stack up with each other. *** Well, we are around 6 months post-op now. How is everyone coming along? 1)- What was your weight pre-op? 2)- What is your goal weight? 3)- How much have you lost already? 4)- How much total weight do you want to lose? (#1 - #2) 5)- What percentage of excess weight have you lost? (#3 / #4) My numbers are: 1) 241 2) 130 3) 68 4) 111 5) 61 Since we all start at different weights, seeing what PERCENTAGE everyone has lost puts us all on even terms. I think some "slow-losers" will see that they are not slow, they just don't have as much to lose... and others will realize that they need to step it up to catch it up!

I started at 243 and at 6 months had lost 67 pounds. My NP said to expect to lose 20 more pounds over the next 6 months. I'm pleased of course I'm 60 years old. Thanks for the post Dolores

Ok, here goes . . . (thanks for the little reminder about how to figure percentages for those of us who are math-challenged, haha!) also might be helpful to note our heights. 1. started at 268 and i'm 5'2" 2. immediate goal-136 (top of normal range) eventual goal-123ish 3. weight loss at 6 months-93 4. amt. desired to lose-145 5. percentage lost at 6 mo.-64 Sandy

1) pre-op weight was 228--- 5'1" 2) goal weight... we'll say 128 (makes the math so much easier!) 3) I've lost about 71 lbs 4) At least 29 more lbs 5) 71% (see how I simplified that math!!!) But I have to qualify these stats by saying that according to lots of weight charts I should weigh 105 for my height. That would mean I'm only about 58% of the way there. I can't imagine losing 52 more lbs without looking emaciated in my face. So I guess I wont know the answer to this till I get closer to goal. We're ALL doing GREAT! ~Sue

pre op 247.5 goal 138 lost 62 total to lose 110 % lost about 60% This was a good idea to post. I was worrying that I was off target but seeing every one else's numbers... especially the % lost I see I am right on track. Thanks for the boost in confidence! And peace of mind!!! wanda
