Now that I am almost 6 months out from surgery, I was wondering if it is alright to take the whole Citrical tablets. What does everyone else take for their calcium? Thanks. Lynn J., lap RNY 9/29/04 -95lbs

I still take my chewables because I have 7 months worth. I have one more container left and then I am going to ask my surgeon what he think's. I am taking everything else as a regualr pill so I am sure he will tell me to get one I can swallow. I looked on line and they sell calcium citrate but you have to take like 4 of those too. Which actually doesn't bother me cause i'd rather swallow it then chew it. I absolutly hate the taste. Shannon

I just went in for my 6 month check up and asked this same question, I cut all of my larger pills in half and asked her if its ok to just swallow them whole now, she advised against it, she said it may be wise to forever cut large pills in half.

I take my calcium pills whole without a problem. Have for about 4-5 months now.

Hi Lynn, I take the twinlab calcium citrate chewables. I really like them. I haven't taken a single "swallow" pill since surgery. I'm a bit scared to, and I haven't needed to so it's been ok. I guess some day I'll have to try it, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. ~Sue
