Hello everyone: I am down 88 pounds since my surgery and have hit a plateau and nothing I do seems to break it. I am getting very depressed. Everytime I step on the scale it is the same weight. I don't know what to do. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks, Lisa

Mine lasted just over four weeks. I was told to up my protein, drink a little more water and change my exercises. I was doing my treadmill at night so instead I split it up did half in the morning and half at night and low and behold the weight started coming off again. Good luck.

I hate to say this, but I am so glad that I am not the only one. I am going on 5 or 6 six weeks with no weight loss. I guess I need to work out harder and drink more water. Thanks, because I was so worried.

Mine last 7 agonizing weeks. I tried going back to stage 1, I tried more protein, less carbs, I tried upping my exercise... nothing helped me. Finally my body must have decided it was ready to let more go, and FINALLY I lost. It's terrible, I know - but know that you are NOT the only one! Katie

Hi Lisa, I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be stuck for four weeks. I'm sorry you are going through this! I haven't had a long plateau but then I am a slowwww loser, you've lost twenty more than me even with your stall. I have read so many posts about this though and I just hope you can be reassured by the fact that plateaus happen, they're really common, and the loss will get going again. Everyone here has given you lots of good advice. Double check your food intake and everything else, and if you know you are doing all the right stuff then just hang in there and try not to worry. Definitely mix things up a *****ange your exercise or eating routine a bit and see if that shakes things up. I've heard that really works to break a stall. I'm sure things will get moving again soon. ~Sue

Congratulations on your weight loss - we are surgery twins!! I have not lost as much as you I"m down to about 71-72 lbs. I gained 2lbs not to long ago. Getting on plateus is part of the process. If you are weighing yourself - that can drive you crazy - it's as if the scale "knows" that you are doing that. Weight yourself once or twice a week and keep working at the normal routine...it will come off...this plateau thing happens a bit. Don't get discouraged. It will pass!
