I am down 70 lbs.......
Hi All! I am down 70 lbs now and I feel wonderful. I am not good for the exercising all the time and I am sure that this is what I need to boost my loss. Anyone elkse losing on the slow end? I am eating mostly the right stuff but sometimes I eat the carbs and I wish I wouldnt. I stay away from sugar at all times and I mostly drink all my fluids but I need to get back on track. Does exercising make a big difference? Like I said I am happy with my loss and I will go to the doc on friday for my 6 months appt. even though its not 6 months until 3-22 but all in all I am happy I just wanted to get some opinions on the exercising and the carb intake.
Thanks amybee
I can say FOR SURE exercise and carb intake makes a big difference. I had kinda stopped for a few days and notice I gained 2 lbs and then I got back on track - 10 min cardio and then 45 of fat burning and then the scale moved again. It's important BEFORE WLS and AFTER. We have to keep it up - of course everyone does different levels of it but we need to exercise. My friend did the lapband but she doesn't take exercise seriously - and ya wonder why she complains about not losing!! Ya gotta get that heart rate going - as for carbs - and me - I'm not eating any red meats, breads, pasta...I'm being very selective with my meals I do think I need to drink more protein though I only get my protein from chicken, tuna and fish. Keep up the good work though..just up the exercise if you can.
I'm down 78 lbs. and am a happy camper!!! I am not exercising much either. I do wear a pedometer and walk at work as much as possible. But, I wish I could get in the habit of doing more "real exercise". I also have a problem with sweets. I unfortunately Don't dump, so I CAN eat sugar. I try not to, but I just HAVE to have a bite of chocolate here and there!!! I try to stick with tootsie roll midgees and only have one or two per day!
Amy,
I have noticed that my weight loss has slowed - and when I eat the wrong stuff it comes to a grinding halt! I don't avoid carbs necessarily but I am still eating better than before surgery and still eating much less than before. My biggest obstacle appears to be grazing when I'm bored! Anyway, my weight loss picked back up once I started excercising - I do 45 mins of cardio 3 days a week and I do weight traning 2x a week - now I'm not talking about a lot or anything but I go walk on the treadmill for 20 mins and do the eliptical machine for 15 minutes and usually the bike for 10-15 minutes. As far as weight tranining I do 8 machines - anywhere between 10 and 40 pounds for 20 reps - takes maybe 15 minutes. Plus I've noticed that has helped me drop inches!
Good Luck!
Stacey
