New at this- need some feedback please ! I am six months out from surgery next weekend and have lost 159 pounds. I think I should be feeling great but am definitely NOT ! My energy level is zilch, and I barely can eat anything, probably less than 2 or 3 oz. of food a day. I have terrible air build up in my stomach that results in painful belching which leads to throwing up any fluids I have in me along with foam.... Is anyone this far ou t having problems like these . All I do is cry it seems, am getting desperate....

Diane~ I am sorry to hear you're having this problem. I can't say that I know what you're going through at this time. I do want to say that 159 lbs in six months is an amazing acomplishment. I can only suggest that you call your surgeon and let them know what is going on. It sounds like something is wrong, what I don't know, but I'm sure your surgeon would be able to help you. Please don't hesitate another day, make that call and I'll pray that you feel better very soon. Hang in there. God Bless! Jo

hello Diane Im sorry to hear your having a tough time and feeling yucky. Only thing I can think of is maybe you have a stricture. I have never had one, but I know a few people who have, and the problems your having sound just like what they had. I would call your surgeon and get in to see him/her and maybe get scoped to see whats going on in there. I hope you get to the bottem of it and start feeling better soon. CONGRATS on the wonderful weightloss though, thats fantastic!!! Take care and keep us posted Amanda

Congratulations on your weight loss...that's amazing!!! Do you have anemia? I know we get it after surgery- I had it before and sometimes I don't have much energy. But the thing about the foaming - I had that happen to me once. I had had some chicken I think I ate some fat or skin and I was throwing up for a while....but if you're drinking and you get this foam - it does sounds like a stricture. Call the doc immediately. The stoma or intestinal opening may have closed - usually that happens in the early stages of the surgery - but now I guess it can happen later as well - if it gets real bad - don't wait - get to the hospital. Good luck and keep us posted.

First of all call your surgeon, your body chemistry is probably way out of wack if that is all you are consuming. You probably have low potassium and Iron, both of which will affect your energy level. I get the foaming when I eat too fast and when I drink anything while I'm eating. I also get the terrible gas pressure when I eat too fast or too big of bites. I would also get checked out for a stricture (scarring that has caused your opening to reduce in size not allowing food or fluids to pass through quickly). You need to have this checked sooner than later though as the longer you wait the more damage you can be doing to your system. Take care and keep us informed.
