O.T. question
Hello all,
We are taking our first big family vacation to Disneyland next month. A couple months ago I wasnt worried about fitting on the rides, now that its getting close Im starting to worry. Im at 230lbs and HOPING to lose maybe 10-15 more before we go (a girl can hope huh) LOL. Do you think I will have a problem fitting on them?? That old fear of getting up to the ride and being told "sorry your to large" is just haunting me now. What do you all think?
Hope everyone is doing great and having much success in this new life and new year.
Thank you
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
I just went to Disney mid January and was about 215-220 and I fit just fine! I am sure you will be fine even if you didn't lose another pound. Of course I am sure you will drop a few more, but I just want you to know you will be fine.
I actually think I lost a few pounds while we were there because we walked so much.
Just relax and be excited about your trip!
Karen
Amanda - We went to Disneyworld in January. My youngest is 8. I have been putting off this trip for years due to my size and my fear of not fitting on the rides. In January I was probably down to just under 200, maybe 195 but I am very large on top. I didn't have any trouble fitting on one single ride and had the time of my life! Really, I had so much energy, it was magical in every way! I brought protein drinks with me and drank them in the morning. I was somewhat careful the rest of the day and walked and walked and walked! I didn't lose weight that week but I didn't gain either! I'm OK with that. Have a wonderful time and say hi to Mickey and Minnie for me! HUgs, Sandy

Amanda,
Hey, Do not even worry, I have been to Disney before I had the Lap Band and I fit on all the rides fine. I was 297 pounds. I went on Mission Space(Best ride) and to Disney, Sea World, and Universal. Do not worry about it you'll do fine. I even went on the go-carts. The only Problem I had was the Airplane seats. They make them for Barbie I think, and I am NO Barbie. You'll do fine! Jennifer
My original weight was 288 and after surgery and a month later I was only - about 18 - 25 lb loss..and I was strong enough to get on the dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom. I was nervous about bumping into my neighbor and not fitting - and it so happen that I was fine - the lap bar went down and I was seated comfortably!! What a feelilng, what a relief!! I was so excited. So be proud - I think you'll do fine - and give Mickey a kiss for me.
I know the apprehension about getting on the rides at theme parks. You should be fine at 230 pounds. I went to a Busch Gardens in Williamsburg about a month before my surgery (260 pounds). I stood in the long line to get on Alpinegeist and they put me in a seat (actually tried to put me in a seat) - I DIDN"T FIT! To my humiliation, they moved me to the "Fat People's" seat. It was the most humiliating experience I had ever had as a big person. The park opens up again this weekend and I can't wait to go. I know that I will be able to fit in ANY seat with my new size 8/10 body! I can't wait.
Don't worry - you should be able to fit fine! At 260 pounds I was close to fitting. Have a terrific time!
Love and hugs,
Donna Lantz
