What do we "do"? No 2/29....
So what do we do, since there is no Feb 29???? Do we count it as a anniversary date/month? I'm doing okay. Can't believe it's gonna be 5 months - been fighting some depression and can't seem to get to go to sleep early and then when I get up I don't want to get up. Feeling a bit sleep deprived..maybe that's where the "depression" is coming from. If my weight holds up to what I check this morning then I've lost 71-73.5 lbs. Need a helping hand - feeling kinda blaaaaaaaaaa
Ruth,
I know there was a post a few weeks ago where we all discussed sleep problems--possibly from weight loss. I know I have had trouble getting through the night, but once I am up, I am up all day. Have you talked to your doctor? Maybe he/she could give you something to help get to bed or talk about being depressed. I know that is very common. I was very bummed in the early months after surgery, but I take Lexapro (SSRI) and I think that's what keeps me balanced. I started taking it about 2 years ago when I began having really bad anxiety attacks, but it works wonders with depression I am told. Also, I hate to be like--just take pills it will be better, b/c I am an avid fan of therapy/counseling, but for me the medicine helped in addition to therapy. Hope that helps! Keep up the good work!!

Well i'd say have your anniversary tomorrow. I am sorry your feeling blah. It isn't a great feeling. Maybe talking to someone can help. I know my surgeon said I better do a follow up with the psychiatrist I had my psch evaluation with because even if I don't feel depressed or down at the time it may come and it would be helpful to talk things out.
I don't know exactly what's causing your blah's but I know mine are now more emmotional issue's then anything else. I hope your able to get some sleep, maybe take some tylenol PM's or get another OTC. Talk to your physician he/she may have some good idea's to help you out.
Best of luck to you.....

Well, twin, I celebrated my 5 month anniversary yesterday!! I will just celebrate the 6 month one on the 29th of this month!!! Congratulations on the loss. I'm at about 77 lbs. which I am sooooo happy about!!
Sorry you are having sleeping issues. That can cause MANY problems!! When I talked to my doctor about not sleeping well, he said that it sounded like depression. I reminded him that I was already taking Prozac (Have been for about 6-7 years to fight "peri-menopausal symptoms), and he suggested that I increase the dosage and see if that helped. He also said that my lack of energy sounded like depression. I have increased my dosage, but I can't really say that I have seen a lot of change!! I think some of it is just the time of year that it is!! I always get "spring fever" about this time of year. At least that's what I call it. I get very restless and sorta blaaaaah. But, usually once the flowers start blooming again so do I!!
The "sleep aid" in Tylenol PM and ALL other OTC sleep aids is nothing more than Benadryl, so if you have some of that, try taking 1 or 2 before going to bed. That works pretty well for me. There are also several other really good prescription sleep aids out now, so it probably wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor about it. Hope you "bloom" again soon!!!
Love, Pam
