Happy 5 month anniversary! I am happy to report that on my 5 month anniversary I am down 70 pounds. I started out at 280 pounds with a goal of 140 pounds, so as of today I am half way to my goal. Only 70 more pounds to go! My BMI is now 34.9 which means that I have graduated from severely obese to just obese. I'd love to hear updates from my surgery date buddies and anyone else who wants to post their 5 month stats. Life is good! Julia

Happy 5 month anniversary to you! I have lost 18lbs preop and 72 lbs after surgery. That is a total of 90lbs so far. I went from size 22/24 to 16/18. What made me happy the most is that I can wear a size 5 in Taekwondo now versus an 8 I used to wear before surgery. Our uniforms are different sizes than our regular clothes. I thought was cool I could fit in my husband's uniform. His uniform is a size 5. I have bought me a new uniform since then. I put my size 8 uniform up. The only problem I am having is back pain. I am receiving physical therapy for that. My physical therapist thinks my back pain is due to my posture. It is different since my weight loss. I hope it does get better. Other than that, I am very pleased with my weight loss! Lisa 279/189/150

Hello everyone, I am doing great. I just got the new from my doc that my labs are wonderful. All the medicial problems that I had piror to surgery are now gone. I don't take any of the medication I used to and that in its self is wonderful. I started my journey at 326 and was down to 312 the day of surgery, as of yesterday I am 245. I would like to get down to 200. I have a wedding to go to in May and will be surprising my whole family with my weight loss. I just now told them about the surgery. I wanted to make sure that all was well with me before telling them. They all live on the east coast and me the west so we don't see each other much. I am now looking forward to buying new clothes. I have been wearing the baggy stuff and people are really starting to notice.
