Hi gals and guys - I just discovered this board, yoo hoo, where have I been? I had my lap RNY in Rockville, Maryland on 9/20/04, comin' up on the 5 month mark tomorrow! I would love to be able to compare notes and vent to others going through the same stuff at the same time. My surgeon was Dr. Barry Greene. My surgery was uneventful, way easier than previous c-section or gall bladder surgery. Post op has been terrific. Weight loss was slower at first, kept testing my limits, but now I am in a good routine. I drink the EAS AdvantEdge mixed berry protein drinks and can eat almost anything but my doctor advises a diet of 70 grams of protein, 30 carbs each day and no bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, or fruit til I reach my goal. I'm able to stick with that most days, a few cheats here and there, mostly with fruit believe it or not! Hey, how do I post a photo? Looking forward to making some new friends here! Hugs, Sandy 268/184/136

Hi, Welcome to this board. It seems like some days not too many people post things, so I usually go back a day or so and answer existing old posts. People respond and I enjoy reading them. I especially like the posts that ask questions. A few weeks back someone asked about our backgrounds. I think you may still be able to find that post a learn alot about us. I had my surgery Sept 23,2004 and I have now lost 63 lbs. I am not a rapid loser. I am 62 years old and am just glad to be at this weight at this time. I do so hope it continues for another 40 or 50 lbs. My surgery was uneventful for the most part. I attend a WLS group twice a month. I go to "Curves" three times a week and try to walk at least 2 times a week. I am losing hair, but have been getting enough protein and water and taking all my vitamins. It is a small price to pay and it is supposed to grow back. I am so very happy to have had the opportunity to have had WLS. Again, Welcome and keep posting, Susan

Glad to have you with us!! As for photos---go to the main entrance of this site and look under member information and interventions and you will see one that says "Photos". Click on it and it will have a place to email the photo people and they will tell you what you need to do to add photos to your posts. Speaking of which, I need a new one as mine has been the same since October 31st! I am glad you are doing so well. I am a slower loser but that is OK. We are all different but going through the same thing all over this country!! Sharon 266/194/150

Welcome Sandy Glad you found us! You are doing an amazing job keeping your carbs so low! We have a very nice group of people here. We support each other and learn from each other and it's so nice to find common ground despite the differences in the ways we all are experiencing post-wls life. It has been a huge help to me. Hugs back at ya and "talk" to you soon... Love, Sue
