How many calories?
I'm kind of confused with the calorie intake. I talked to my PCP and they recommend 500-700 calories at this point. But I read other people's posts who had surgery at or around the same time as me and their calories are at about a 1000 or more.
I just wonder because I finally broke my plateau (of 3 weeks) but only by 2 pounds. Maybe I'm doing something wrong??? I get my protein and liquids, not so good with exercise (only a few, 2-3, times per week).
One last question, I've been trying to increase my portion size to get the calories I'm suppose to, but I get so full, sometimes uncomfortablely full.
Example: for supper last night;
3/4 inch pineapple ring, 1/2 cup strawberries and a piece of string cheese
for lunch today;
1/2 inch pineapple ring, 1/4 cup cottage cheese and 1/2 cup chili
Am I eating too much??? After I got done with these meals I was way too full. Thanks in advance for any help.
Chris
I've heard (and felt) that when you're full that's when you have to stop..otherwise you'll make yourself sick. I feel I'm on the other side of the spectrum - I had:
Breakfast 1 Eggo waffe and 2 turkey patties
Lunch 5oz chicken salad w/couple crackers and Carb clever peach chunks
and the other day I was able to eat 1/2 chicken! Well, not all of it but ya get my drift - sometimes you can eat more and others less but the main thing is to eat til you're full and not pu**** I don't count calories but I do watch the labeling on all food products.
Hope I've helped.
My doctor never said how many calories I should be consuming but I keep between 400 and 850 a day depending. Some days I feel like I am starving and others I can barely tolerate eating anything. I did put myself on a strict schedule of eating 5 times a day as my doctor told me to. Even if I am not hungry I make myself eat something small. I have 3 meals ( if that is what you call them..lol) with 2 snacks. Nothing after 8 pm unless it is sf jello or sf popsicles. I watch my sodium and broke my plateau. Only lost 10lbs in Dec but lost 25 in Jan. Also, do you eat fast or slow? Your body changes so you will start losing good again. Just give it time.

I am eating between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. I eat 6 small meals a day, about 150-200 calories each. I try not to eat ANYTHING in between "meals" , which is not difficult because I am eating every 2-3 hrs. That is really working for me. Some days I feel like I could eat everything in sight, and then other days I just eat on "schedule". If something doesn't go down right though, I stop immediately!! I have found out that you cannot "force feed" yourself anymore, which is a GOOD thing!! Hope this helps you.
