4 month Celebration...& Question about Soda pop
I need to toot my horn today - and since I know only you guys care about it this..since we're all in the same boat...I'd like to share...today is finally the 4th month celebration...I can't believe how far I've come and how fast the time has gone. It was just a short time ago I was contemplating this surgery - and now it's 4 months to the day! Though it doesn't feel or sound like much I'm down to 64 lbs and only 24 lbs from my mini-goal of reaching 200 lbs. Thanks for hearing me out!
In my past I was always a hardcore Soda drinker. Due to my diabetes I was stuck with the Diet Pepsi, Diet cokes, but after the surgery all this tappered off..but occassionaly I do get a bad craving for the soda. Anybody drinking the stuff?? I don't have a problem with plain water (3-4 bottles a day), 1% milk, or Carb Countdown Orange Juice or Diet V-8 splash but today I was craving the soda really bad...so I went and bought a small diet pepsi bottle and had just a couple tiny sips(I promise it was tiny!!) but what have ya heard or are your thoughts. Thanks for the input!!
Hey Ruth,
I am also 4 months out and have lost 100 lbs. 20 pounds away from my goal weight . I think that sugar free soda is okay once in a while. My mom is 5 years out and she occasionally drinks a diet soda. But be careful the bubbles in the soda WILL stretch your stomach out if you drink it all the time. I, myself, wont go near anything the doctor told me not to go near, i think that that is why my weight loss is so good. Anyways, congrats on your sucess!

Congrats on your weight loss! About the soda pop, my doctor said no way unless it was completely flat which I tried once. Took 3 hrs to get flat and it just wasnt the same. So I will realize there will be no soda in my future. I do drink a lot of decaf sugar free instant ice tea. Maybe u should try that. Keep up the good work!
