I'm almost 5 months out and I feel like I'm doing things right but I'm not losing. I've been stuck at the same weight for 2 weeks now and have only lost 11 pounds since the beginning of the month. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude but I'm really starting to feel down. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear from you. Thanks, Chris

Hi Christina, I am 4 months out today and lost 20 lb my 1st month, by my 3 month check up I was down another 22 or so... As of today I don't know exactly how much I have lost, but the last time I checked (about 2 weeks ago) I was down a total of 52 pounds. I have lost weight very slowly. I go through weeks with little or no movement on the scale, so I try not to weigh myself more than once every 3 to 4 weeks otherwise I get mental! I think 11 plus pounds a months is great! Try not to get too down on yourself and keep doing what you are doing... it will come off. Karen

Chris, Subtract your name from the end and insert mine. I couldn't have said what you said any different. I am just trying to increase my protein and pray that I start losing soon. Shannon

If you look at a graph of weight loss after surgery it only shows about eight pounds/month loss after four months. I think now we have to look at a larger picture of our progress. We all will have weeks that we won't show progress on the scales, but we shouldn't worry if we hit the monthly projections. Keep on trucking - you are doing great!
