WHAT IS YOUR HAIR LIKE
MINE is coming out faster than I am loseing weight. I am very happy about the weight loss but the hair loss is bad, I had thick hair now I am going to get it cut short tue,I hope this help's. I know this mite sound differnt but befor when a hair pulled out it would snap or pop,now the routeis smaller and no ouch when it comes out,ARE YOU GOING THROUGH THIS??? what can we do?? I know they say this is normal but how long dose it last? I have uped my protein hopeing that this will help michelle
Mine is coming out too. I always lose hair after surgery or childbirth but this is worse. I am upping the protein but who knows how long that will take to help. I am told by others that are farther out that it does stop and the hair does grow back so all we can do is wait and pray!!
Wonder what all that hair weighed lol
Take care, Sharon
Yep, I'm shedding more than my dog right now!!
Hair loss between 3-5 months is normal for us after surgery. Anesthesia alone can cause this but also, the shock from the rapid weight loss. Many swear increasing their protein, taking biotin, special shampoos, etc. may help. Me? When I've had enough, I'll cut it short until it stops. And, I've been told it WILL stop and grow back!
Why can't the hair on my legs follow suit????
Take care,
Beth

I have to say I have been rather lucky so far! I will lose a few strands in the shower and see some evidence of a strand here or there around my sink but considering I have baby fine straight hair to begin with I really can't say I am losing anything to speak of, or should I say, anymore than I normally do! Ever since I became post op I started taking 1000 mg of Biotin daily along with two pre-natal vitamins daily. I also believe that cutting fat totally from our diet will have an effect on hair loss so I refuse to cut fat out totally---what I mean by this is I don't eat fat free cheese but whatever cheese I ate before surgery. I make sure I get my protein in each day as well as all my meds and vitamins. I just hope that after posting this message I don't jinx myself and start losing it by the clumps tomorrow! I am anxious for the hair loss period to pass to the point where I know I am safe. All my hairs on my head have a number! LOL
Good Luck Everyone--
Marianne
Mine is coming out in huge clumps. It doesn't matter weather I am in the shower, walking around the house or outside. If I run my fingers through my head it comes out a lot. When I was my hair it looks like I could make a wig with what's in the drain. My hair is all over everything. My coat, my shirt, everywhere. I lost hair after having my baby but even that wasn't like this. Thankfully I had a lot to spare in the beginning but soon enough it is going to catch up to me and hopefuly I won't need a wig. I wish I knew when it was suppose to stop. I really like my hair. In fact that was the only thing I did like about myself.
