Outgrown clothes to charity

Greetings!!! I spoke to a friend of mine that had the surgery about a year ago and I was telling him how I'm going through clothes in my closet that I need to get rid of soon. He told me that he and his wife (they both had surgery) donated their clothes to the local battered womens shelter. They were thrilled to get the clothes and apparently have need for larger sizes. I thought it was a great idea so anything that I cannot give to WLS friends is going there instead of a consignment shop. I also have some old cell phones that I'm donating there as well because they can use them for 911 calls. Just thought I would share this wonderful idea with all of you since I know you must all have a ton of clothes you are about ready to get rid of. Oh... as an added bonus... the donation is tax deductable! Talk about a win-win situation for a loser! Laura RNY 9/7/04 330/232/140

Laura! First of all, congrats on your awesome weight loss!!! Whooohooo!!! And the reminder about what to do with the too big clothes is great. I've never had such a tall stack of clothes that are too BIG!!! Usually the opposite! What a great idea of getting the clothes to sisters in need and to help us out a little $$-wise. Best of the New Year to you, Beth -65
