I read the other day on this...I have tried some of every type of lotion and creams...my face which has never had a dry day in my life..Mary Kay had some great creams as well as Avon ..but nothing is working for me...cocoa butter...bath and body works...only thing i am getting is black fingers..and only from the gold rings...the silver rings do fine..I never drank 64 oz of anything added up in a day before surgery...i drink it all day but the most i know i get is 48 oz on a good day...I am really going to work on this.....

You are really going to HAVE to get your fluids in and MORE than the 64oz (that is the minimum a day!)... your poor body is drying out... Couple your diminished fluid intake with the harshness of winter and it is adding up to even more injury....do warmer liquids make it go down easier? It seemed to help me right after surgery..... Wishing you nothing but the best! Elizabeth~

I know you are right...but i need one of those hats that hold 2 drinks and straws that you drink with..LOL.. now right after surgery I did better with warm drinks...now it does not matter much... I am trying my best....and going to have to try harder...

I am drinking 70 oz + of water a day, and I still have horribly dry skin - EVERY WHERE! My forehead even FLAKES! My legs look like alligators! I've been trying to take an oil bath everynight, and the Dr. suggested taking extra Vitamin E oil capsules, but with this dry winter weather, I don't know if anything will really help. I'm going to try adding Flax Seeds - as Queen Tooter as raved about, I'm hoping it will help with my scales!!! he he he

I take Flax seed oil...omega 3's are very important after this surgery..but maybe the combination of the water and flax seed would work...I did finally use some Avon ANEW clearly C and one time use did wonders and now 3 times what a change...now...my eye brows were even flaking..

I don't know if it is just working for me or if it will work for all of you, but I have a routine now. In the shower or bath I use moisturizing body wash (no specific brand - as it changes) and when i am done washing/exfoliating with the wash cloth I rub baby oil in and rinse off the excess. Then when I get out of the shower (with the baby oil rubbed in) I start putting firming moisturizer on. I have used three different brands so I don't think that matters. The point is, if you exfoliate while washing by scrubbing hard with the wash cloth and then follow up with the baby oil and lotion I think you will see an improvement. My skin is baby soft. I don't think the firming lotion is a miracle worker but I figure I may as well try to see if it helps with the loose skin. Good luck to you and I hope this works for you as well as it does for me!
