Hi To all my September buddies! Please, please, please get this done ASAP. The endoscopy is no problem at all. You get a nice drug to put you to sleep and then you wake up and your pain is 3million% better! No kidding. Like night and day. No one should ever have to put up with this pain. It is so well worth it. I had it done twice and ended up on Carafate liquid 4 times a day and protonix twice a day. If I don't take my medications, I am suffering again. So, I no longer have strictures, but my tummy didn't calm down. Looking forward to talking to the doc. more about this at my 3 month appt. this coming wed., the 22nd. I read someone else was taking Carafate too after the surgery. ? I don't have ulcers, but boy, let me tell you, it felt like I had 3 huge ones and the pain and heartburn, the frothing and throwing up, etc. :O I was on 2 prevacid and tons of gas-x and maalox with gas-x, rolaids, tums, you name it and nothing helped. I was miserable and couldn't eat or drink. It isn't a problem, you wake up, get your vitals checked and go home feeling a ton better than when you went in. My very best to you. All of these posts are so right! Take Care, Michelle

I've been dealing with this pain? irritation? discomfort? (pick one) since October. I am FINALLY getting the endoscopy done tomorrow morning December 30th at 11am. I'm a little nervous but I hear it is a breeze and works wonders. Did you have it done Susan? Wish me luck! Laura RNY 9/7/04 330/232/140
