If it gets worse, you should contact your doctor. You could have a restriction. But, I also hear people say that they just go through "phases" when things go down really well and some where "nothing" goes down right. Just be aware of what is going on and don't wait too long to contact your doctor if you need to.
If you really think its a problem you should call your doc but I will tell you that I am getting mostly all my water and protein shakes in and I dont feel like eating much else after that, I was told to just make sure I drink drink drink. And I learned the hard way what happens when you dont drink enough I was in the ER last wednesday all day geting fluids through an IV. I was so dehydrated they gave me 6 bags of fluids and I didnt even have to go to the bathroom until the next morning. Make sure you get all of your fluids in.

I go through the same thing. It all depends on the time and the day whether I will be able to eat or not. My mother has a theory - if I wait longer than 30 min between drinking (one last big gulp, at least our version of one) and eating, I have a harder time keeping it down. My mom thinks my pouch is getting dry, so it rejects the food. Or maybe it constricts and there not the room there needs to be.
All theories... but maybe that will help you.
So next question: is there anything the same each time you have trouble eating? How you sit. Timing on the liquid/wait/eat/wait/liquid thing. How moist the food it? Distractions?
Rachel,
I did the same thing. I finally realized most days I was choosing to eat or drink--because I couldn't do both. And eating usually ended up with me throwing up--not all time, which kept me confused.
I went to my 3 month check-up and within a day or two had an endoscope. The outlet from my pouch was so narrow, they could barely get the scope through it. Not only was it a relief to eat with out all the misery, but what a relief to know I was NOT eating too fast, too much or not chewing good enough!! It wasn't my fault!!
My doctor told me it's not unusual to have to have the stricture dilated twice before it's cured.
Take care and please call your doctor!
Good luck!
Beth
