why can't we drink with meals??

You know, I am probably the only one on this board who doesn't know why. . but why can't we drink with meals? I only found this out (that we couldn't drink with meals) a few days before surgery. I know it's painful. . but what else?? thanks, Leslie

Another reason is that you wash the food through your pouch so you do not stay full allowing you to eat more. Marie

I too was told that it was because it washes the food out of your pouch causing you to be hungry again too soon. I was told to wait 30 minutes before meals and 30 minutes after.
