Is my pouch too big?? How much can you eat?

I am concerned that 1. my pouch was made to be too big . . or 2. I've somehow stretched it out already. I can comfortably eat 1/2 a McDonald's cheeseburger, with bread. Or I can comfortably eat about 3/4 of a sonic Jr Cheeseburger, with bread. I can eat one whole slice of toast (not all of these things at once!) But I can eat more than I thought I'd be able to. This leads me to wonder if my pouch is too big. I really don't see how I could have stretched it. I've only thrown up from overeating three times. .. and that was in the beginning. Also, I very rarely eat to the point of being uncomfortable. I would just think that if I've stretched out my pouch that I would have known it. . b/c of overeating pain. How much can you eat? Thanks Leslie

I can comfortably eat 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food with no discomfort MOST days. Some days NOTHING goes down well, but some days I feel like I could eat everything in the house!! I try not to eat more that 1/2 Cup of food per meal (according to the guidelines set by my dr.) and I eat or drink protein drinks 6 times per day. It takes a LOT more self-disipline than I thought it would!! I just don't eat between "meals" no matter how hungry I think I am!!!

I can eat a half a sandwich with bread with no problems and the doctors say that's fine. As long as you aren't drinking while eating, and eating slow it's not really possible to eat too much at this point without getting sic****ep asking the same question because I worry about it too, but I keep getting assurances as long as you aren't cheating (i/e/ drinking and washing out your pouch etc) that it is all fine. i am new here but i had surgery 9/16/04. i have pretty much totally avoided bread. but i feel like i can eat too much some days. other days i can barely eat anything. i just follow the rules re: protein first, no drinking with meals, etc, and i think that's what matters most.
