Tuesdays Exercise Check In

Yesterday I walked four miles total, swam laps for 25 minutes and had a light workout with weights (still on light duty). This morning I swam laps for 25 minutes. My knee is a little sore today so I am going to see how it feels to walk in a couple of hours. Tonight I am going to the Y with my two daughters to work out on the weight machines, then go to the pool and practise snorkelling to get ready for our trip to the Florida Keys the last week of February. It sounds like there are some other lap swimmers in this group. When comparing myself to a skinny swimmer who goes twice as fast as me, I just tell myself that they have to go twice as fast to burn as many calories as someone like myself who weighs twice what they do - I can't wait until I am a lightweight and pass some of those speedies! What will/did you do today?

Man! You are moving all the time. Good on you - you'll be passing 'em by in no time! Yesterday, I did 40 min aerobics in the am and a 70 min water aerobics class in the evening. Same for today. I was very disheartened this morning to see the two lbs loss from yesterday back this morning! How and why is that? I've not lost anything in almost two weeks. I was sooo glad to see a 2 lb drop. Well, I'll keep on keeping on and wait. Maybe I'll peek at my measurements. take care all! Nancy

Hi Greg I have an appt with my trainer in 30 minutes... (gotta go!!) My gym membership came with four one hour personal training sessions and this is my third one I'll be going to. (don't wanna go today, i have a cold and want to stay home!!!! But I already cancelled once a couple of weeks ago for having a cold and he's going to think I am BSing him!) He will probably have me do weights, elliptical, the big ball exercises, some of the bungee cord resistance stretching, etc. When it gets warm here, I'll get back in my pool, but until then it's no swimming for me. Even our gym pool is outdoors because I'm in Southern California. But today it's in the low forties outside and I don't swim in that weather! Sigh, guess I have to go!! ~Sue

hi greg & all, i'm home sick from work today with a bug which i hope is a 24 hour thing - my spouse and son had it bad this weekend. so no exercise and no food and not even any liquid yet and it's 1 pm here. tomorrow's another day. susan

Well this was a light day for me. I started out with 45 minutes of water aerobics. Then I worked out lower body, abs, and back on the Cybex machines. I guess the weight lifting lasted about 45 minutes. Dennis
