Man, I ate more than y'all. Just a few weeks ago I would have posted a similar menu (about 400 cals and not enough protein) but now, I am hungrier and can eat more. Should I worry? My cals totaled under 800. I do exercise a lot, tho. My exercise alone yesterday added up to over 800 cals burned. But this thread has me worried, now.
Here's what I ate:
B: Oatbran cooked with evap milk and sprinkled with wheatgerm
S: Cheese Whiz - 1 tablespoon
L: 1/2 veggie burger with shredded cheese, 1/2 cup cabbage with light dressing
S: 4 prunes
D: (not the usual at all) 5 Tortilla chips with chili and cheese
S: 1 scoop unflavored protein powder mixed in with SF pudding made with carb countdown
Cals - 786
Protein - 65 g
This was one of my highest days calorie wise. The prunes were not worth it and the cheese whiz was a food of convenience (it does have a surprising protein content for a 2 tbsp serving - 5 g).
It has just been this last week that I have been eating more. But in these last few weeks I have doubled my activity levels. I am hungry 3-5 times a day. I'll confess that I do sip or drink with my meals.
Any suggestions or input? My surgeon really sucks at postop care. I have been thinking about going to a nutritionist.
Nancy
I don't think that you are eating too much. My surgeon is GREAT at post-op and has two nutritionists in his office that are at our disposal. I was getting in 600-700 calories daily and she told me to up the calorie count to 800 or more. My weight loss is kinda slow, and she thinks that my body thinks I am starving it. She said that if I up the calorie count a bit that should "fool" it!!
So far, I am not losing any faster, but then I am NOT exercising either.
I would contact a nutritionist if I were you! I don't know exactly how you go about that, but I think it would just make you feel better!!
