Hi Andrea and everyone~ For me I would have to say it is also not overdoing the carbs, and drinking enough water. I don't drink with my meals, but I do cheat a bit on the spacing of the water before meals and after meals. I wait, but not an hour or two. Plus I would like to go to the gym four or more times per week instead of the 2-3 times a week that I am now. My doctor wants me exercising at least 5 days per week. Good question, Thanks! ~Sue

Hey Sue, Thanx for your Honesty I need to get my but in the gym period. So you are one up on me. LOL My salad went over big last night and the grapes helped a lot too and I think the scale is starting to move again...I will know by the end of the week. Don't be to hard on yourself....we're all learning and changing bad habits that we have had for years. There is a quote that is said quite often in the baptist churches that I've attended and it goes " I'm what I want to be, I'm not what I ought to be, but thank God.....I'm not what I USED TO BE". Hi Andrea, You are doing a terrific job monitoring this thread! I drank alot of water pre-op so getting it in doesn't seem to be a problem with me. Thanks to www.fitday.com, I can monitor my protein and carb levels to TRY to keep them ok. I have trouble making a meal of cottage cheese last 30 minutes..although I can if there's meat. I wait the 30 min pre and after meals to drink MOST of the time. If we are at a restaurant though, I slip on that one. My biggie is exercise. I'm on my feet constantly at work and my hubby & I also own a bar so I spend alot of time doing the books, ect for it. I recently started taking thyroid meds because it decided to konk out. Maybe once those levels are where they should be, I'll have the energy...but there are still only 24 hours in a day. I hear people talk of going to the gym or seeing a personel trainer and wonder where their energy and time comes from. When I do get to just sit, I am ready to veg out! Sherri

The hardest thing for me is getting all my water in. I do pretty well, but still have to work at it. The other thing is the exercise. I really need to kick my own but in gear. Days I work, forget it. I'm a nurse in the ER and work 12 hour shifts. All I want to do after that is go home and go to bed. On my days off, I'm pretty bad about it, but I do go out dancing , which has been awesome exercise. I on average will lose 1 lb just from dancing that night. On top of that I grab some water while dancing and it all goes well. . Actually I have way too much energy right now...maybe I should go do some of my exercises and then go to bed. Brook

The hardest thing for me to do is to eat slow enough. I throw up everytime I eat too fast, but it is still the hardest habit so far to break.

The hardest thing for me is the exercise!! I just knew that after I lost 55 lbs. I would be full of energy and ready to exercise EVERY day. NOT!!! I have to MAKE myself go to Curves 3 days a week and since, my surgery I have not done that. I do wear my pedometer and record the amount of steps I take daily, but that is not enough!! I also don't always get all my water in. The protein I'm fine with, the carbs are fine, but the water is hard!!
