Why is it that everyone seems to lose more than me and faster than me? I have only lost 37 lbs and I am out 9 weeks. I will say that I have not been exercising as much as I should because of complications with my wound but what else can I do to boost my loss? Alot of people out the sam eas me are down 60 + pounds. I am so frustrated. Anyone else a slow loser like me? Love AMybee

Amy, You're right around where I was at 9 weeks. And I don't think you're a slow loser at all. When I saw my surgeon at 6 weeks and had lost 28 lbs, he said I was right on target. Nevermind what anyone else is doing. If you follow the rules (and yes, that means getting in your exercise) you will lose at the pace your body should be losing at. End of story. If the number on the scale frustrates you so much, get off the scale and just enjoy feeling more energetic and feeling your clothes get looser on you. Seriously, get off the scale. And Smile... you're doing great! MaryAlice (278)268/224/135 Lap RNY 9/3/04

Hey Amy My surgery was the day after you and I'm only down 40 lbs. I was upset with it at first then my mother said I should go to the food store and get 8 bags of sugar and carry them around !!!! That put things in perspective for me !!!! I think we are all diffrent so some of us will loose faster then others but in the end we will all hopefully be at our goal weight !!! 64 lbs. left to go for me !!!! So keep up the good work !!! Hey AMybee. You are right on track from everything I've been told. My doc's office said 25-30 pounds the first month then 10-15 every month after that is doing great! So you're right there. Try to get the excercise though. It really helps. I had a lot to lose, and I'm down 47 in about the same time frame as you, so you're keeping up with me. Your body is doing what it's comfortable with. As long as you stick with it, you can't help but succeed! Marie

Stop looking at scale and keep your eyes on the "prize"! Also, if u can't exercise just make sure u r more active and just walk more. It works for me. I hit a small plateau also, but kept remembering that this is a lifelong change, and I didn't get like this overnight.it will come, just stay committed and focused on the "prize"...a healthier, smaller, and more energetic you. Amybee- I had suregery 2 days before you and am at -37. Sounds like from the reply's received you are right in there with the rest of us. I have had several "plateus" already. Several days of no loss, then I lose 1/2 lb a day for a week. I am trying to only weigh on Mondays. That way I don't get upset about it. Keep up the good work. You are doing fine! Teri

If you are losing ANYTHING... you are on the losing side. Just think that is -37 lbs that you don't have to lug around anymore. Be proud and happy it is gone forever ! Every person is so unique and individual , as are their bodies ..... eating habbits , and exersize routines. If we all fit into a single mold , how boring would that be. Cheer up. YOu will hit goal one day and all the weight will be gone. keep your Head up
