QUESTION OF THE DAY!
Hey Rebecca...thanks for taking the time and patience to ask! I had the Lap RNY on 9/7/04 and to-date, I've lost close to 70 pounds with about another 80 to go...so I'm just about at the half-way point!!
Eating isn't too bad for me - I would have probably lost more than I have but I do eat pretty much what I want. I've only had 2 episodes where I litterally "lost my lunch" but it was my own fault - ate too fast.
I go through days where I'm not hungry and then days when I'm starving to death but I don't try to think about it too much.
My biggest accomplishment is that before WLS, my stomach used to touch the steering wheel and now, I have about 5" between them!! YAY!!
Congrats to everyone who has posted on here...we're all LOSERS but in this case, it's an excellent thing.
Thanks for caring, Rebecca and good luck to you!
Cheri
327/262/150?!
Rebecca,
What a great idea!
My name is Carmen, I had surgery 9/24/04. My heaviest was 274. That is when I decided to have surgery. I was 262 the morning of surgery, but am now at 216. Down a total of 58 lbs and just dropped into the "obese" category. I am feeling great, still waiting for the extra energy everyone keeps talking about! Nothing has come up, no dumping, but a little nauseau recently.
Everyday is a mental struggle, but havin great suuport like this board is essential!

Rebecca,
My op date was 9/17/4..so about 10.5 weeks out. I've lost 52 lbs but have been on a stand-still for ~3 weeks now. I recently learned that my thyroid had quit functioning and was put on meds yesterday so hopefully the standstill will end soon. I've had to have 3 endo's so far (narrowed each time and an ulcer found the 1st time). I enjoy getting too SMALL for clothes and putting them in bags to give away.

Hi there Rebecca I had surgery on 9/28/04 I have lost 62 pounds as of this week I feel great and eat mostly protein w/ the exception of whole wheat cracker here and there no sugars very little carbs everything goes down well now and lately I feel hungry that worries me I drink more liquid to fill up between meals. I must say the first couple of weeks were rough for me I really thought that I made a mistake doing the operation but now I feel great I came to terms with my new life and I take it one day at a time this is my new life and I am learning to deal with life without using food as a crutch.... and I am happy to say that my hubby just came home today he had surgery on Mon 11/30/04 he is doing well for a man lol (Ladies you know what I mean)... I wish you all the best and thanks for posting
