Sooo Frustrated!
I hate my scales. And before you tell me, I know I should stay off of them. I was all excited two days ago because after a week long period, I lost five pounds overnight.....today, I get on the scale and I have gained 3 back. Gracious I wish I was not a scale slave. It's funny, it seems the harder I try to make sure I get my protein (80 grams a day) and the more I drink, the worse I do. I had one day where I ate too many carbs, like I ate three saltines and some Melba toast ( among all the protein laden foods and good carbs like green beans) all in one day and I lost weight, I don't understand and this is sooooo frustrating! Anyone else having this issue?
I hate my scales too!! I know that I should NOT weight every day, but I can't help it. I try to stay away from carbs because it seems like the more carbs I eat, the more I want!! Then I start craving sugar which is NOT a good thing for me. I had my surgery on 9-29-04. I've lost 50 lbs. since 8-17-04. Maybe I need to eat a few more carbs, huh? lol

We are surgery twins!!! I had my surgery in Lexington with Dr Bolar on Sept 29. I think that your weight lose is great!!! I have lost 45 lbs since surgery but I did not try to lose any before surgery. I actually ate a lot before surgery cause I was trying to get in all my favorites and then some!! LOL I know that you aren't suppose to ask about other peoples progress but are you able to eat normally? And how much can you eat at one time. I can only eat about 1 oz of anything and I am done. I have had some problems with strictures and I think that is why I can't eat as much as they tell me to. Anyway, congrats on your weight lose and becoming a loser!!!
love and hugs

ps---here is a joke for you!!!
I think scales should be like our husbands "should" be........either do what we want or never be used again!!!! ha ha ha just kiding. My friend told me that the other day and I thought it was pretty good.
There's nothing wrong with complex carbs found in wheat bread and wheat pasta. I eat a toasted slice of wheat bread every day. It's just the chips and white flour stuff I try to stay away from.
Also, I often remind myself that people had success with this surgery before the atkins craze so it's not bad to have carbs. Only in excess can they hurt you. Your brain needs carbs as well. It's a proven fact.
That's just a nursing students perspective.
As far as losing from eating them--I am not sure about that, but I know if I eat around 800-900 cals a day I lose more. I was staying at 500-600 for a while and I think my body thought I was starving it. My doc says to eat a 1000 a day and no more. Also, the more water I drink the more I lose.
Keep up the good work y'all!!
