I'm nervous. I go for my checkup tomorrow and to be weighed. This is only my 2nd time since surgery. AND only my second time to be weighed. In the first 26 days I lost 31 pounds, but I am worried that I havent lost enough this time. What is enough? Of the early september dates how much have ya'll lost? I know everyone is different, but maybe if I could get a ballpark figure or average. Wish me luck, please. Debb w

Well I know what you mean. I see my doctor in a little over 2 and a half weeks and I haven't seen him since right after my surgery. I weigh myself but of course not on the scale he has and not where it counts. I have lost a total of 99 pounds. This includes the 21 I lost pre-surgery. Since surgery I have lost 78 pounds. I was what I consider a heavy weight to begin with though. I had my surgery on September 3rd. I wish you the best and I hope you get nothing but wonderful news. Shannon

WOW!!! My doc wanted to see me every 2 weeks for 8 weeks and then go for a month. I have my next appt on 12/6 for my labs. Very curious about those. Fortunately getting my vitamins in has been a lot easier lately. I am a little frustrated though... I have only lost 37-38 pounds... since 9/14 ... my biggest challenge has been getting motivated to get up and MOVE!!! I work night shift and I am exhausted when I get off. I go straight home and usually crash. Now with the time changes... I don't want to go out in the dark to walk for a couple of miles and the mall is too packed with peeps to walk there... What is a fat chick to do???? I guess I need to use my time at work more wisely and walk there when I can.

I had surgery 9-29-04 and I've only lost 29 lbs since. I think that is VERY slow, but like you, I cannot get motivated to exercise!! I work at a desk all day and walk when I get a chance at work, but it is not that much. I thought that after I'd lost 50 lbs. (21 pre-surg) I'd have lots of energy and be "raring to go" to exercise. NOT!! I'm not sure what I need to do.

I am a week behind you and I have lost 55lbs. As you can tell, everybody is different. It is best that you don't compare yourself. I think that eventually we will all be at our goal weight and not to worry the small stuff. Remember that the first couple of weeks are not normal and we usually average after that about 10-12lbs a month. Stay positive and I bet you will do great. Margaret 345/290/140?

I was in late September, and as everyone has said, everyone is different, however, my doctor said the "normal" range of his patients was 20-30 pounds down the first month and then a steady loss of 10-15 pounds a month after the first month. The more you have to lose the more tends to come off and all that. So, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure you're doing fine!!!

Hey Debb, I'm sure you are doing fine, don't be nervous!!!!! I had surgery on 9/3 and I am down 42 lbs. I probably have about 70 to go. My doctor is happy with that and i am definitely one of the slow pokes in our group, so I am sure you are kicking butt compared to me! By the way, my bloodwork all came back perfect so that is the important thing! Good luck, you'll do great! ~Sue 237/228 on surgery day/186/115 or ? Height 5'1"
