My date was 9-7-04 and I have lost 50 lbs I feel like a slow loser. Well I was told today that I am eating to many carbs. I eat my 2 to 3 oz usly 2 times a day, dont eat breakfast just a protein drink. Could the potatos that I love be slowing me down? I also like 4 to 6 saltteen Crackers.I like to have a few nut's also I am not saying this it what I eat in one day. ButI will have one or the other once a day . I dont eat that much meat, a lot of green bean's. So tell me am I geting in to much carb's, is this the reason for the slow loss??? Thanks so much for the help....

Congratulations!! 50 pounds sounds like reason to celebrate! Are you saying that you only eat 2 times a day? I was told to eat about 2 ounces (that's volume and not weight) 5-6 times a day. I try to watch the carbs, but that doesn't mean I don't eat some. I try to concentrate on eating protein first, sometimes all I eat is string cheese for a meal. I've had ritz crackers a time or two and I love to eat nuts and those aren't bad for carbs. I'm not expert but I'd say you need to eat more protein and more meals a day and enjoy the carbs occasionally. I'm 8 weeks out and am down 45 pounds, but that includes the 10 I lost before surgery. I think you're doing great, 50 pounds since 9/7 sounds pretty good to me. Keep up the good work! Julia

I was told less than 40g of carbs a day. My husband and I take in approx 25g carbs/day. The protein helps your wounds heal and muscle grow. It's up to you, but I'd try to eat more protein and less carbohydrates. Also, watch your sugars.
