Diet made simple
I was have having a terrible time all last week - purging every dinner or lunch eaten. Called the doctor Saturday and they wanted me to come in Monday for an Upper GI and an EDG. Since I could keep fluids down, I didn't need to come in right away. I won't go through the whole story, but the end result is this: (I thought this may help anyone out there who starts have trouble with the food they are eating)
Chicken is a very common "problem meat" - so no more of that. I was told to eat: ground meat (turkey or beef), flaky fish (tuna or white fish), eggs (not hard boiled), cheese, refried beans, (no baked beans - too much sugar), and black beans.
Since we are not suppose to eat pasta - we tried the soy pasta from Revival Soy - 1 ounce has 7g protein. It taste the same and what I remember regular pasta tasting. We have only a 1/2 ounce in a meal, along with 2.5 ounces of ground turkey or beef. I was really daring tonight and made little mini-meatballs with angle hair and Alfredo sauce - it was so cool cause it stayed down and I did not feel deprived.
I've seen several of you are not on as strict a diet as we are.. cooked veggies aren't even in play until next week.. but sometime, if you start purging, but don't have a burning pain.. you can try the diet Eric and I will be on. maybe it will help.

I am now to have no dairy products, see what happens with that..I seem to go in circles what works now will not work later..and my protein drink with the whey in it counts as a dairy..sooner or later I will get it figured out and be fine..I do have veggies on my list but has to be mush..and i need protein so i opt for protein foods. though i did have some pear..YUMMY
hi christina,
meatballs with soy pasta - what a great idea. how did you make your meatballs? i use ground turkey. did you throw them in with the sauce to cook or did you cook them ahead in a pan?
just today i took out some ground turkey from the freezer to make a turkey loaf and am hoping it will be wet enough. i am going to use sugarfree relish, sugarfree bbq sauce, an egg, and some lowcarb bread crumbs i found.

Publix (grocery store) makes meatballs with all the normal Italian spices, parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs. I took two of them and made six minis out of them.
After 2 1/2 months without any beef, Eric and I are on a kick, so last we did turkey was... 3 weeks ago I think. Anyways, I cook the meatballs in a skillet or on our mini-George Forman Grill. We use to have a "Family Size" - I gave it away and mom got us one for our new family size..
oh.. have you seen the low carb flour tortillas from Mission? They are small burrito size, and you can cut them in half for a "our size" portion. only 4.5 carbs
