Last night...
I had such a wonderful time! I felt like the bell of the ball. The traditional ceremony was beautiful this year and with the Unit about to deploy to Iraq again the pride you felt and saw was so amazing. I have been a Marine wife for nearly 13 yrs now and never have I felt so proud. The SgtMjr ordered me a "special" plate since I can only tolorate ground beef at this time which was nice of him but Ickkk the food wasnt so great at all. I did have a few drinks and tolorated them very well. It didn't affect me and more or less than a few drinks before surgery would have. We danced, socialized, and then retreated to our hotel room for "quiet time." This morning we woke up and lounged around the hotel room with no kids, no phone and no distractions. It was nice to just relax. But the fairytale is over now and back to work I go in the morning, lol. Thanks to the kind replies I got from yesterdays post.
Hi Monica,
I'm so jealous, I'd love to get all dressed up and go to a ball. I bet you were beautiful. I'm so glad that you got the special treatment and had a wonderful time. Thanks for letting us know how it went with the drinks because with the holidays coming I'd like to at least be able to have one with everyone else.
Hold on to those great memories so when life gets stressful all you have to do is close your eyes and remember the wonderful time you and your husband had at the ball!
