I have ketoacidosis!
What exactly is ketoacidosis? I looked it up and can only find info related to those with diabetes.
Last night went to support group meeting and nurse told me she was worried about me because she could smell ketones on me.
I thought I was doing really well, but afetr thinking and writing down what I have been eating/drinking, I am at around 30g protein a day and about 20 oz of liquid. I am now writing down everything and paying attention. Just eating is difficult for me and really had thought I was doing ok! Now I am scared. Any info would be great!

I know that it is "normal" for us to be in "ketosis". That just means that our bodies are burning fat as opposed to muscle tissue or water loss. But I am not sure if that is the same thing as ketoacidosis. The "smell" that the nurse detected is a "fruity odor" and is again normal for people who are in ketosis.
You're protein levels are not extremely high, (I get 75-85 grams daily) but you MUST increase the amount of fluid you are drinking. Getting too much protein without enough fluid can lead to kidney problems!! I would call my doctor/nutritionist if I were you. Better to be safe than sorry!!
Ketosis can be very dangerous. That is why my dietician recommends that I do get a balanced meal. The protein is most important, of course, but I am supposed to get carbs and veggies in too. Because of that, I don't feel weak, tired and I have a ton of energy. You may want to explore that idea a bit.
