HELP SOMEONE, IT WILL BE 8 WEEKS THURSDAY, AND TODAY I'VE EXPERIENCED THE WORST GAS PAINS ALL DAY LONG. I HAVE TAKEN 3 GAS-X, AND 2 PHILLIPS MM PILLS TONIGHT (CAN'T STAND THE LIQUID). I AM SO UNCOMFORTABLE THAT I'VE EVEN RESORTED TO TAKE A VICADIN, JUST SO MAYBE I COULD FALL ASLEEP. I HAVEN'T TRIED ANY NEW FOODS, IT JUST COMES AND HITS ME LIKE A MACK TRUCK. ANY INSIGHT WILL BE SO APPRECIATED. THANKS, SUE

Hi Sue, Sorry to hear you're in such pain. I'm just over 6 weeks post-op and although I have had gas cramps, yours sound extremely painful and I would call your Dr. right away. Wish I could be of more help.... I'll keep you in my thoughts. - DJ 250/217/140

Hi! ;) So very sorry to hear about your terrible gas pains. If this happens again, report it to your doctor. Let him/her decide what might be causing it. I have been there and almost went to the ER with such discomfort. No amount of Gas-X or Rolaids helped. Not to scare you, but I did end up having an endoscopy and the doc. opened up an area that had swelling and scar tissue. It was closed, just narrow and boy, did I feel better after that. The endoscopy was Thursday and my heartburn is gone, my vomiting and naseau, etc. are gone. I am burping again and it feels great. I didn't realize until he suggested the endoscopy and I had it, that I wasn't burping anymore or just how bad I was feeling. This made sense to me. Not to scare you, but to tell you that your doctor knows best. Maybe there is something that he/she can give you if it gets too bad at times. really stinks that it can't be traced to a new food or something, huh? GOOD LUCK! Love, Michelle

Hi Sue. Does the pain basically come from the right side? If so it could be your Gall Bladder. My Dr has me on a prescription called Actigall to prevent such a problem. Apparently this is a side effect from the surgery. I would definately call your Dr. and have him check you out just to be safe. Keep us updated! Mike

Yuck, the pains from gas can be so awful. Sometimes if I lay on my belly and stick my bum out in the air it helps to move things along and get the gas out. Make sure your alone or with people who have no sence of smell cause it won't be pretty. I would give your doctor a call though just to make sure that the pains your having are really gas. You should always be safe when it comes to things like this. If it is something you go through on and off then the only thing that can help is passing the gas. Your doing everything you can so now letting it happen on its own may be the only way. I wonder if walking would help? I hope you feel better soon and the Vic. helps you get some sleep.
