Well tomorrow is my first day back to work since surgery six weeks ago. My lunch is already made in the refrig---> egg beater with cheese and salsa sauce--I know my tummy can handle this just fine. Protein shake for breakfast and sf applesauce for snack. Since school lets out at 2:05 that should be plenty of food to take me through the day. I wonder what everyone will have to say when I walk back into the building. I still see myself at 265 lbs when I look in the mirror. Even though I lost 40 lbs and went down two sizes in my pants and top, and the scale now reads 225, I don't see the physical change. Anyone know how long it takes for us to finally accept our changes mentally? I guess this is what people who are anorexic go through too. Signed Losing but still see myself at original weight Marianne

Hope your day went well!! If your exericence is like mine I bet you had to field 100 questions!! I wanted to paste a sign on my forehead that said 35 lbs! ( I went back after 4 weeks). That part does get better and I know they all ment well. As for the mental changes, I am still trying to learn that myself. I am sure it will not come about overnight. I think as we learn and experience this new life, the acceptance will happen. I hope so anyway!! Sharon

Good luck returning to work, I had surgery on your date and returned to work after 3 weeks, I suggest you take it slowly, because your energy level may be a little off. My biggest problem returning to work was remembering to eat. Again good luck with returning to work.

Wow Jessica. You've lost 32 lbs. already? that is super!! I had my surgery September 29, and I've lost 25 lbs. since surgery and 21 before for a total of 46 lbs. I drink Protein shakes 3 times a day. I am getting in 75-80 grams of protein daily! That's down from 85-100 grams when I first started. I LOVE the protein shakes. I can get that down when nothing else will go. I live in Ruston and had my surgery in New Orleans. Who did your surgery?
