Hi Michele Chicken you say???? Before surgery I LOVED chicken. After surgery I LOVED chicken. I started out with the typical chicken broth, and then I made a big pot of chicken soup when soft foods were allowed. The first time I had my soup it was fine..no reactions. The second time I had such terrible stomach pains. Then another time I made chicken breast with cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup as a gravy and again I had horrible stomach pains. To make a long story short, I now stay away from chicken. My stomach turns at just the thought of chicken. Chicken and jello are two of the foods where my taste buds have changed from love to HATE. Will have to try chicken again before the summer comes, afterall, what is a BBQ without the chicken? Marianne

Hi Michele, I do OK with chicken salad but regular baked or other forms of chicken make me . I hope it gets better for you. Be blessed, Lisa

I haven't done well with chicken. I get that "stuck" feeling when I eat it. Now last night I did make a turkey breast and smoothered it with gravy and it went down GREAT. Go figure. Its been about 2 weeks since I tried chicken so my pouch just might not have been ready for it yet. As far as meat as a whole goes I tolorate ground beef and breakfast meets great, everything else just depends on the day. Good luck.

I have the same problem with chicken. Except for chicken salad on crackers. I sure hope it passes lol. What is easier to fix than chicken!! Of course not many meats work for me at present unless they are very soft, covered in sauce or on a cracker. I guess I will keep trying. I have a doctors appt. today and will see what they have to say about it. Sharon

I had probelms with chicken also, it seemd like it would go down ok, and then the next thing I knew, I was dashing for the bathroom. That was in early October with chicken breast tenders. I can do chicken salad with no problems, and I have eaten the hot wings that you can buy in the bag from Costcos, 15 gms of protein per serving. I think do improve slowly, but I must admit that I was scared to try anything chicken before finding the wings. I have now ventured onto Thai curried chicken, which has also gone well. Good luck

Chicken is causing me problems too.... Actually, I can eat chicken in a cream sauce (chicken pot pie for example) and it does not bother me (although it is loaded with calories) but to eat chicken by itself is usually painful and not worth it. I had always read that most people have trouble with beef, yet I can eat ground beef plain or in spaghetti without any problem. Go figure...!!!!! I guess we just have to keep trying and eat what makes us feel best and is relatively healthy. - DJ 250/217/140

We can eat chicken in small chunks in a sauce or shredded and in a sauce. We can not eat it dry. We are hoping we won't have the same issue with beef once we are allowed to eat it. One of the doctors at the hospital said the meat people are most common NOT to be able to eat after surgery is CHICKEN! Go figure! .. from this post, I guess he was right on target. Oh.. suggestion - try it with refried beans (if you like those.) That helps us.

Michele I had problems with chicken also until I figrued out that the problem was I was eating the wrong part of the chicken for moistness. Why don't you try useing the thigh...it's much more moist than any other part of the chicken. what I do is debone it... remove all fat & skin... season it and broil it in the oven on an cooking sheet!!! Not only is it tasty and smooth going down...it also let me enjoy chicken again!! HOPE THIS HELPS!! Mary
