Alchohol?????
I am 8 weeks out today and had a quick question. The 15th of this month is my husbands Marine Corps Ball. I haven't been in 5 yrs because I HATED shopping for a dress. Hubby is leaving in January for Iraq and we have reserved a room at the hotel where the ball is being held and want to make it a special night before he leaves. My Doc is very strict on alchohol, he thinks I should only have a glass of wine once or twice a yr for the rest of my life. I'm not a big drinker anyway but I was really hoping to sip on a drink throught the night of the ball. Just one over a long period of time. Has anyone else tried drinking yet?
hey monica i had a friend that went to the ball and she drank as well with her hubby and his buddies.... and she spent the evenin in the bathroom and the drunkin marines where takin care of her.... i wouldnt pu**** unless u know that ur body can handle it.... but then i have another friend that is 2 yrs post op and she drinks every friday..... so its really up to you... just be careful....

Sounds like a smart plan to ry ahead of time! (PS, I think you are 7 weeks out.........not 8.........cause I am two weeks ahead of you, and I am 9, lol!!)
Best of luck.....hope you have a BALL..............and please let us know how the experiment goes!! I have a ball to go to in 3 weeks, and was wondering the same thing.........but was afraid to try.....
I'd say stick with the wine. They say you can get drunk real fast and aside from spending the night in the bathroom you will probably also spend it out cold after you pass out and I am sure you want this night to be a memorable one. Not to mention I don't drink so of course I would go with don't drink.
I hope you have a blast and I am sure you are going to look amazing.
Have Fun

Hi Monica
I had my first drink at the Obesity Help convention's costume ball last weekend. I sipped only about a third of the drink (cosmo martini ) and I did fine. But I definitely would suggest doing the test run at home first. And in any case, be careful not to overdo it. Have a wonderful evening together!
