I am having an extremely hard time finding a protein drink - either they taste very BAD or they make me sicker than a dog. I also seem to be vomiting almost every day - I am not overeating, I notice that (and this is gross) the food that I do eat comes up is chunky - so possibly I am not chewing as long as I should. The other day I had 3 sips of a boost protein drink and had pains in my bac****il I threw up, has this happened to anyone else? Also, I am concerned about the damage throwing up may cause my pouch. Anyone?

Hi, sorry your having so many problems, I cant do protein drinks either, I havent found one that doesnt make me gag. My doc said that he doesnt want his patients relying on them because he wants us to get our protein from food. It does sound like your not chewing enough. Also Boost contains a high amount of sugar, thats why you may have gotten sick. But to be sure I would check with your doctor. I dont know of any damage vomiting can cause to the pouch. Good luck!

Sounds to me like it is a chewing issue as well. My doc feels the same way as Anonymous'. I am to try getting my protein from food, especially because it helps me to feel satisfied hunger-wise. I would go back to scrambled eggs and other mushy foods and wean yourself back on to full foods slowly and do a lot of chopping and chewing. I chew the heck out of everything and I have never vomited from anything that I have tried. Good luck, hang in there, your body will adjust!! Kell
