The evil bread and pasta
ME ME ME!!!! I am eating some bread and pasta. I can eat 1 slice of bread (without crusts) or a little pasta. . .such as mac n cheese or a little spaghetti.
I don't eat them everyday. . but I figure that it's okay since I am eating so little of them.
If I were capable of following a strict atkin's diet for the rest of my life, I don't think I would have had this surgery. I wanted to reduce the amount of food I eat and eliminate sugary junk foods from my diet. . not carbs.
Can't have bread, pasta, potatoes, or rice.
AND I WANT THEM SOOOOOO BAD!!!
If I could have 1/4 a piece of white toast, made up like an open faced tuna melt, I think I'd be in heaven at this point!
protein only can really suck at times when you can't have beef! I was not a veggie person (mushrooms and fresh asparagus only) and now I'm actually looking forward to getting to eat veggies..

I tried mac and cheese and I hated it . It used to be a staple for me and it didn't taste good to me at all after surg. I have had some bread, only 1/2 slice of whole wheat with my eggs in the AM. I did make a low-fat lasagna last night with ground turkey and lowfat cheese. I used a jarred light marinara with seasoned, browned ground turkey and layered it with the cheese, chopped spinach and cheese filled ravioli. It is so much easier than dealing with those darn lasagna noodles and it was a perfect consisency and a well balanced meal, I could only eat 2 of the ravioli, but it was perfect. I'm drooling just thinking about how yummy it was. 2 months ago I would have eaten 1/2 the casserole dish.

pasta and carbs are what got me where I am today!! they are my weekness and I know it...i have had pretzels, and cheetos...BAD BAD ANGIE I know...but I have no desire for anything sweet...other than my sugar free crap...that sure taste like heaven today...and i have had chicken parm and got sick...i am scared!! I think anything makes you sick you back away from it for a while...
Last night, I made swedish meatballs. I ate one meatball (I make them about the size of a golf ball) and five noodles (they were medium, not wide), with a little gravy, and I was fine!
I switched over to swedish because I believe that the tomatoe sauce from other meals has been irritating my throat, making me feel like the food wasn't going down.
Guess what? Haven't had that feeling since!
Anyway, I think pasta should be eaten in great moderation.
