My Big Mistake Today!!
Today I did something soooo stupid. I neglected to eat until late afternoon. I woke up with a scratchy throat and a stuffy nose and ended up swallowing lots of phlem (sorry if this grosses you out. Later, I was planning to go to the grocery store, but it ended up being later than I really wanted to go. I didn't want to eat because (in my mind) I wanted to save room for my shake I planned to drink when I got back with the soy milk.
My stomach was growling like crazy so when we were done at the store I asked my hubby if he wanted to stop at Taco Bell and eat...I told him I could eat the refried beans and cheese. I heard that's a popular item for newly post oppys. He said okay. As soon as I saw the food my pouch started going crazy....growling and I started salivated (REALLY)...I was like Dang I must really be starving. I took little bites and chewed but my stomach just would not settle. Then came the nausea. I was wondering where the heck is this coming from....I've eaten beans before. Finally I got the signal that I better run to the rest room. Sure enough, I threw up. I was so upset because this is my first REAL time throwing up and I was afraid for my pouch. I stayed in the stall untill I felt better. Then I went back to the table. I felt fine. So I said okay that was weird and I began to eat again but before I could bit the nausea came back. I told my hubby I was ready to go and I got an awful burning feeling in my pouch. When we got home I drank a little yogurt smoothy and I felt better immediately.
The only thing that I could think of was that I waited Waaaaaaaay to late to eat and that I that was too spicey to be the first thing in my pouch for the day. A lesson learned.

Sounds like you really did wait to long to eat. I have those days sometimes. I throw up a lot and I haven't been to concerned about hurting my pouch. I just get aggrivated because most things don't stay down. I will say one thing though, when I go to McDonalds with my husband so he can eat something I don't get hungry for the food. It just doesn't appeal to me like it did before. The only thing I have been missing lately are the spicy french fries that we use to bake in the oven. I know someday I will be able to have a little again.
I hope your feeling better.....

Live and learn HUH? We have to learn how to eat again like babies so I guess the only way to find out what you can tolerate is to eat it. I can eat the beans from taco bell but not much of them.. I actually have found that nothing has made me throw up yet and I am going to be 6 weeks out on Wednesday. I am very strict about following orders though. The only times I have thrown up is when I drink to soon after a meal or take to big of a drink of something but I would have to day that nothing so far has disagreed with me so I guess I am lucky. Your diong a great job! Dont be discouraged. Its a learnign experience for all of us!
