Since my Lap RNY on 9/7, I've gone from 296 to 249!!! My whole outlook on life is changing in ways I never even considered. I don't need my husband to carry my laundry up and down the 2 flights of stairs from our bedroom to our laundry room. I broke into tears of happiness last week when I realized that not only have I not asked him to do it, I RAN my laundry upstairs that day and didn't even break a sweat. The only problems I'm having are : getting all of my protein and water in. I'm gonna order some samples of tht nectar stuff and PRAY that I like it. All of the other protein shakes mak eme wanna Thank God for this surgery!!! How are the rest of you doing? -Carrie DJ Vixen on www.freakradio.net

WAY TO GO CARRIE! 47lbs is GREAT! Lucky for me, my wife does all of our laundry, so no problems there. I haven't tried the nectar yet but I am drinking the Atkins Advantage shakes...20 grams of protein in each shake. They actually taste really good but they fill you up quickly. GOOD LUCK! Mike

Congrats on the great weight loss!! That is so fantastic! And you are obviously getting up and down the stairs easily too, so that is super. As for the nectar, I hope it works for you.......... I have vast quantities of it, as I tried it pre surgery and liked it................AND, you guessed it, it is city now........ Bummer. Chinese food w/chicken is the only other thing that regularly makes me , especially if it is with broc. I just keep trying it though...it is one of my very favs and I keep hoping I will be ok with it, lol. The EAS carb advantage drinks seem to go down pretty easy for me.....but the new Matrix 5.0 from the same folks as the nectar is REALLY REALLY GOOD! So far, I find it far superior in taste and lack of aftertaste............and "Oscar the pouch" seems to tolerate it too!

I HAD to give him a name, since he seems to have a mind all of his own...and for the most part he seems to be very very grouchy.......

Well, old Oscar is getting the last laugh tonight, my friends. I really thought at 8 weeks out it was time to try a little Chinese food .. have been craving it..... So, had 1/2 cup hot and sour soup. I've had the soup a few times since surgery, and all but one time Oscar had no comment. So, tonight I branched out and had about an ounce of Chinese chicken too........cut it into teeny, tiny bits, ate slowly, waited..................AND OSCAR SAID NO WAY, JOSE!!! And has continued to remind of that decision rather graphically for the past two hours, Zofran be damned....... Guess he feels pretty strongly about it..... Guess it will be awhile before I go here again!!
