I am 4 weeks post op and still have lower left abdomen pains. Like 6-8 inches to the left of my navel. I read a post a couple weeks ago on this issue but it is not where the stitches are. It is below that area. I do not have fever and the intensity of the pain comes and goes every few hours. Thanks for the info.... KD

I have noticed a similiar pain in that same area. Mine seems to be less frequent and maybe not as much pain. I wonder if that is the area where they tied back into the small intestine? Mine is about two inches below the naval and six inches to the left. It seems to be getting better for me.

KD- I have had the same pains - in the same area. It comes and goes. Yesterday it was pretty bad but, if I stood up it seemed to go away. Then I would sit and back it came. It lasted about 3 hours off and on and then I was fine. Not sure what the deal is. Greg and I had the same surgeon - maybe it's his fault. LOL! Teri

Thanks you guys... Maybe my surgeon went to the same medical school. It makes me feel better knowing you have the same thing. That I am not alone. Cheers, KD

I'm 4 weeks out too and have the same pain 6to 8 inches to the left of the belly button if place your hand over it it helps I postd the same thing last Sat after speaking with my pcp she said that if I didn't have a fever or it wasn't hot or sore she really didn't give it much importance.. But then the wonderful people here e-mailed me and told me it's has to do with the old stomach and the stiches they assured me it is pretty common and goes away but the pain is more intense for some than others I still have it some nights it really bothers me.. Oh! before I forget someone told me ho****er bottle really helps....

I get it when I have to go the restroom. I have had some irregularity issues and ever since I have been having a little Kashi Crunch cereal each night it doesn't come nearly as often. Mine was constipation. I had the pain in exactly that area too. hopefully this helps. Kell

Hi there, I have it too. Mostly when I get really active. I noticed that when I relieve my bladder then the pain subsides a bit. I don't know if any of you got a belly band before leaving the hospital but if you did this helped me some. Agape: Andrea J.
