Emily, it sounds like you are doing ok... I don't know about the pita... we were told no bread of any kind for at least 8 weeks. I hit a plateau at 2 weeks out and it lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. Finally this week the scales have started moving again. It was frustrating but what could I do... donuts are out, french fries are out... so I just stuck with it. I reminded myself... this is a lifestyle not a diet! You are doing great... keep up the good work. I am doing 2 meals and working really hard to get in 2 protein shake and about 50 ounces of fluid a day. Getting in my pills has been my biggest challenge!
WANDA!!! THE PILLS are impossible to get in!! The calcium is two big ones twice a day, and the VistaVitamins are 4 big ones twice a day.....add in the Actigall x2 and my regular meds, and there is no room left for food! This won't work as they say to take with food! How does everyone else manage it? I am really having a hard time with this..
The pills are a killer. I am going to go to Vitamin Shoppe and get some Crystal Calcium ... its liquid and tasteless... mix with crystal lite and boom your done! Actigall is no small feat in and of itself. Those are some big capsules. I used to be able to swallow a whole handful of pills now one makes me gag!
Vitamin input:
Bariatric Advantage for Multivitamin (2 chewables in the morning)
Bariatric Advantage for Iron (1 chewable in the morning - taste great!)
Bariatric Advantage for B-12 (need something faster)
Calcium Citrate (1500mcg/day) - just purchased a liquid, 30cc day - haven't tried it yet.
We were told no pills. Capsules have to be opened and mixed with unsweetened applecause or yogert, or we have to take chewables or liquids.
Food intake:
B - 1 oz - Examples: egg, cheese, shaved turkey
L - 1.5 - 2 oz - Examples: shaved turkey, chicken, refried beans, cheese
D - 2 oz - Examples: same as lunch, plus shrimp
If we aren't eating we are drinking. Since we have to wait 30min before and after eating, we don't snack at all.
I'm so jealous! i'm not aloud to have anything except for yogurt, refried beans, cream of chicken soup (blended) and protein shakes. I can't start any other foods until my 12th week. I had my surgery on 9/20/04 and I'm 41 pounds down. I feel great but i was i could have a little more food favorites.
dawn
Boy, Dawn...that is some strict doc you have!! At 6 weeks I was told I could eat anything I wanted.............purees ended at 4 weeks! I am proud of you and amazed at your fortitude....there is no way I would have lasted that long without real food!! I am almost 8 weeks out, and down 36lbs, but have been in a stall for the past week.........bummer.
