Hi I am 4 1/2 wks out and I just started getting that pain. I called the surg. office and was told that it is normal. That is the side that they do most of the tearing at your muscles and you have sutures there and that the pain will go away when they dissolve. They told me to use a heating pad. For me it is very painful, it feels like something is tearing and twisting inside. But like everthing else it gets better. Essie

I have had pain on left; it is like hot needles. Our nurse-coordinator said it is a healing pain. Doctor said after stitches dissolve, it puts more stress on the muscles and they must work harder than they did when the stitches were helping. They too said to let them know if fever, but I haven't had one. Pain comes and goes and yes, it sometimes feels worse when lying down. Actually, straining from lying down to get to sitting position is the worst!! After a week of this, it has subsided a little but still comes back full force sometimes (when I least expect it!)

I had similar pains, and found that a ho****er bottle did the trick. When I spoke to the surgeon's office they told me that the pain is expected because of the staples and the rearrangement of the plumbing. I really sympathiza with you because I though that pain was worst than childbirth. Good Luck
