Well, yesterday I saw my dietician and she added so many foods to my list that it was almost overwhelming. I can eat so many things that I ate before, except sugar and high fat foods. I am so worried that it will cause me to gain all of the weight back. I'm following her advise to a tee and eating very small portions, but it is freaking me out mentally. Not to mention, not only am I stalling (for the last 3 days), but I have gained 2 lbs. My dietician said it is usually water weight and my body shifting and adjusting to my new way of eating. It doesn't make it less scary. I am down a total of 23 lbs since surgery and 45 since my liquid diet started 2 weeks pre-op, but I want this to work so bad. I have another 188 that I wish to lose and this is just the start. One other thing I'm having issues with is 'being regular'. I sometimes go 2-3 days withoug 'going'. I am adding a little fiber and apple sauce to try to help things along and I'm hoping this is where my extra weight is comingn from. Any advise? Anyone else having the same issues? Kelley

Hi Kelley, I am one day ahead of you.My diet has been on purreed/blended diet. Your weight loss is similar to mine. I lost 18lbs before surgery and 27after surgery(45lbs total weight loss). I have not gained steadily yet. One day I will weigh one pound more and next day I will weigh two pounds less. I have not been "regular" in about a week now. I have had gas() but no one has noticed I hope. I go about every other day. As long as I am not in pain, I think everything is ok. I do have Mylanta or Maylox if I need it but I haven't. Just remember to keep fluid intake up and get your protein in. I have heard if you do not get enough protein in or water in it will hinder your loss. Don't worry, it sounds like you are doing fine. Maybe prunes would help for the irregularity or Mylanta. Congradulations on the weight loss you have already accomplished. Lisa

It is time to get methodical with your foods.... it will help you through this period of OHMYGOSHICANEATTHIS&THAT stage... you are overwhelmed right now..... I know you can do this... As for being regular. I noticed that when I started back to doing my regular daily exercise coupled with increasing my water intake... that my problems with not being regular stopped. In fact I use the restroom daily now... ...somehow I think blasting it on the treadmill helps move things along.... Don't freak out about the weight issues... I had 7-8 days where I did not loose A POUND... (during my period)... but I freaked a bit as I was sticking to the plan to a T...and then blammo... the weight started coming off again.... Today I'm down a total of 55lbs. overall and 26lbs. since surgery on Sept. 23rd. So that would make me 4 weeks out. For having one week where I lost nothing.. that isn't too bad.... Hang in there! Elizabeth~

I failed to mention that I'm walking 3-5 miles a day as well. Kell

You are doing great! As difficult as it is, somethimes the scale sticks a bit! The more fluid you drink, the better. It will help flush everything out. Sometimes if you eat something salty, a little extra water will stick around. All this is perfectly normal! As long as you are following your dr/dieticians advice, you will do great! Don't be hard on yourself, just keep doing what you are doing. 3-5 miles a day is a lot, I know I couldn't do that much (but I am having major knee issues!). Maybe try adding some hand weights, or change your path. Sometimes little changes to you exercise routine can jump-start things. Good luck, you are not alone! Carmen
